luirgneach
¶ -eich, s. Black-winged stilt — himantopus himantopus. Now very rare in Scottish Gaeldom, though it was to be found in many districts not so long ago, e.g. Glen Clova, in Forfarshire and Ben Lawers in Perthshire. It was a rare bird in Glensheil in 1836.
